Founder & Executive DirectorMd. Mohsin Ali, a visionary social worker and philanthropist, was born on August 12, 1973. He pursued his education with distinction, attending Saipara Government Primary School, Mohanpur Government High School, Rajshahi College, and Rajshahi University. His academic journey was marked by excellence, securing a board-standing position in the Humanities department at Rajshahi College. Later, he completed his graduation and post-graduation in Social Work from Rajshahi University, achieving first place in the first class.
Despite his outstanding academic achievements, which could have led to prestigious government or private-sector employment, Md. Mohsin Ali chose a different path. He dedicated himself to transforming the socioeconomic landscape of North Bengal. Driven by a deep passion for community development, he embarked on a mission to empower underprivileged communities.
His journey began in the villages, where he worked tirelessly to organize and uplift people. His first initiative, Suryamukhi, was established in Belna, west of Kesharhat, laying the foundation for broader social change. Under his visionary leadership, the initiative evolved into Shapla Gram Unnayan Sangstha, which officially registered with the Department of Social Services of the Government of Bangladesh in 1999.
Over the years, the organization gained significant recognition for its contributions to rural development. It received a Microfinance Management Certificate from the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) in 2007 and was further accredited by the NGO Affairs Bureau in 2015. Today, Shapla Gram Unnayan Sangstha operates extensively across the Rajshahi division, implementing programs focused on poverty alleviation, education, women’s empowerment, and economic development.
Through his relentless dedication and leadership, Md. Mohsin Ali has become a beacon of hope for countless people in North Bengal. His unwavering commitment to social progress continues to inspire change, lighting the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for the region.
